London, UK: Hachette Children’s Group announces a partnership with Phoenix Fine Art, a leading Chinese art publisher and an imprint of Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc, on an initial range of 8 art education books for children aged from 4 to 12, including Art Alive with Science.
The deal was brokered by Susannah Palfrey, International Business Development Director at HCG, with Alicia Liu, MD of Singing Grass, a business consultancy advising on access and development strategies for the Chinese market. This is one of a series of Hachette Children’s Group’s growing partnerships in China which aim to find new ways to reach Chinese readers.
Commenting on the special collaboration, Paul Rockett, Hachette Children’s Group’s Education Publisher, says,
“These titles are the perfect mix of activity, art and science learning that will appeal to a wide audience in China as well as here in the UK. The study of art not only encourages scientific enquiry but is a key in developing creativity, self-expression and widening our cultural understanding. We look forward to collaborating with Phoenix to create new, exciting titles that will enhance children’s art and science education for future years.”
Fan Ming, Director of Publishing & Global Business Development at Phoenix Publishing and Media said,
“As the leading trade publishing group and the second largest primary and secondary school education publisher in China, we are delighted to collaborate with Hachette Children’s Group in the UK on this range of art education books. With the growing demand for family activities and an aesthetic learning environment in preschool, this range of art educational books will open up a wonderful new world of art and science to young Chinese readers.”
Julia Zhu, Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Phoenix Fine Art Publishing, says,
“We are very honoured to be the Chinese publishing partner for Hachette Children’s Group to bring this unique combination of art and science subjects to China. As publishers we both approach this area from the child’s perspective, when the scientific and artistic mind collide. We’re looking forward to working with HCG to present the new titles in a fun and collaborative way that appeals to children both in China and in the UK.”
